I’ve loved your regular stories on insta related to not spending money needlessly-it’s helped me to be more aware of when I am spending money and if it’s actually worth it. I’ve started deleting and stopping the promotional texts without opening them, working towards thoroughly emptying my freezer and pantry before spending money on “more exciting” food and avoiding Costco altogether because I can’t seem to go without spending $$$ on snacks when we already have some. It’s really paying off because I’m currently planning out a cut flower garden and I’m just trading one thing for another-except I think I’m going to live the cut flowers more than an eyeshadow palette I don’t actually need
Yes I love this! Plus you’re swapping those things for a combined activity, creative project, research project, exercise, and even income-bringer! Such a good swap. 😊💐
I’ll probably keep sharing some reminders on instagram because I think this attitude toward over-consuming is here to stay, and I know it helps me to be reminded too.
yes, yes, yes! just stumbling onto this (series? apparently?) and some of what you’re sharing is our same reality that ~ nobody ~ is talking about. but we’re living it every day.
exactly. i’m guessing we feel like we should already have it figured out, or something like that. but there’s no shame in not knowing something! or maybe even knowing, but still figuring out how to actually do it. and then how to do it along with a spouse is a whole new skillset!
Yes, this makes sense! And I feel like the people who are good at it largely assume everyone else already possesses the same skills they have, so nobody is proactively sharing information with each other! We're all just out here trying. <3
