"I have self-control in the same way my car has cruise-control: it’s there but I don’t always use it." That is a great metaphor that gave me a good laugh.
I love your storytelling 😊
I currently have my pothos and spider plants out on our deck. I'm not sure how they will fare when I have to move them inside for the cooler weather with a not so sunny house and a cat that doesn't learn not to eat plants. Soon, I need to buy some soil to move a succulent to a bigger pot. I think it's a little jade plant. If I could get a succulent to actually grow, that would be amazing.
I cannot tell you the absolute joy I get every time your newsletter shows up in my inbox! It’s like a chocolate treat first thing in the morning and feels like I’m reading O. Henry.
(Also my tried and true tip for pothos is giving them coffee…someone gave me this tip and my plant babies absolutely love it)
The kindest words! I want these weekly posts to be something to look forward to, so I am humbled you already do! I need to know more about this coffee situation: coffee grounds? Coffee instead of water? Say more!
Substituting coffee for water! My voice teacher gave me my first pothos cutting from her plant at her studio and she would dump her leftover coffee straight from the pot (cooled obviously) onto her pothos at the end of the day. Apparently they’re a member of the violet family and they thrive on the acid. I don’t do it every time but if they’re looking a bit sad I’ll substitute coffee and they absolutely love it!
